Charmes-Chambertin is a grand cru appellation in France, covering 30.9 ha in Gevrey-Chambertin. The rules allow red wine, based on Pinot Noir. Regional bedrock: unconsolidated sediments. It lies 9.8 km south-west of Chenôve and 12 km south-west of Dijon.
The largest grand cru of Gevrey, below Chambertin across the Route des Grands Crus. Wine from Mazoyères-Chambertin may be sold under this name, which is why Charmes is far more common on labels. The mapped area therefore includes Mazoyères.
