Barossa Valley

Appellation

Barossa Valley is a GI region of Barossa in Australia.

Warm valley north-east of Adelaide, settled by Silesian Lutherans in the 1840s. Some of the oldest Shiraz, Grenache and Mataro vines in the world survive here on their own roots, because phylloxera never reached South Australia.
